5 Years Ago Today
10:49 AMToday is the 5 year anniversary of when Dave and I started dating -- what an amazing half decade it has been. Let me just give you a recap of the past 5 years... we have (mostly in chronological order):
- had Ady
- gotten married
- had Cade
- graduated college
- gotten "big kid" jobs
- bought a house
- almost had Hunter
- bought "big kid" cars (x3)
- acquired 2 more pugs (I already had The Fat Guy)
- acquired a cat
- joined an awesome church
- almost sold our first house (offer #2 should be coming in today)
- traveled to California (3 times), Florida (once), and various other places nearby
Thinking back to when we met, I could have NEVER imagined we would be so blessed. In fact, I blew Dave off the first time we met because he wasn't "my type." We have led an extremely fast-paced life for the past 5 years, and have learned many lessons along the way. A few of my favorites:
- Never ask Dave to install a light fixture. An electrician is well worth the expense.
- Never take a non-walking toddler on vacation
- 3 pugs is too many
- Never give a definitive answer when people ask you if you will have more kids... :)
Looking ahead at the next 5 years, I don't think our life will be slowing down much. We just really aren't that type. Don't get me wrong, we are content with what we have been blessed with, and we purposely take the time to make sure we are following His will for our life. However, we know the Lord has much more in store for our family, and we must be prepared to receive those blessings.
We are approaching a crossroads in our life when many important decisions must be made -- decisions that will have a HUGE impact on our everyday lives. We are asking for your prayers for us to have wisdom and clarity in those decisions, while we continue to walk by faith.
