Hodges Family Christmas Letter 2014

10:23 AM

Dear Family and Friends,

This year’s letter comes to you from a place of gratitude for the impact you have had on our family this year. 2014 proved to be the most difficult year we have faced in so many ways. Although we have so much to be thankful for, our hearts our still mending. We actively choose each day to live in a state of thanksgiving, instead of focusing on what we lost. There is goodness all around us: our children are flourishing, our God is providing, and we are looking forward to a year of new blessings.

Ady (8) made her 5th and final school change since this year, and we are happy to report we have found our family’s school home at Victory Christian School. She is thriving socially, academically, and spiritually. She played soccer, rides horses and attends dance classes each week.

Cade (6) is homeschooling this year for Kindergarten. He is an easy going student and picks up on new things quickly. He played baseball in the Spring and plays soccer year around. He most looks forward to playing outside with his neighborhood friends each day, and spends his free time playing Minecraft, shooting his BB gun, and plotting his next outdoor adventure. He will join his siblings at Victory for 1st grade.

Hunter (4) started Pre-K at Victory this year and loves it. He only goes half day, so he has plenty of time for playing with his brothers in the afternoon. He played 2 seasons of soccer, and enjoys it more than his siblings. Hunter has the sweetest spirit, and still loves to snuggle, help, and spend time with mom.

Holden (22 months) is a force to be reckoned with. He is louder, faster, and more demanding than any of the others. He doesn’t realize he’s the youngest, and is determined to keep up. The little guy has had to sit through hundreds of games in his short life, and is a very supportive fan. He could dribble a soccer ball as soon as he started walking and can throw a baseball across the room. His vibrant personality has earned him a ticket to Mother’s Day Out this next year.

Dave’s hard work and dedication to his job has rewarded us with opportunity and provision. We put our house on the market in July, and are waiting patiently for the next step to be revealed. We are enjoying this season of having (almost) all school aged kids, and the flexibility that brings to do what we enjoy. We both will be turning 30 in 2015, as well as celebrating 10 years together.

We wish each of you a Merry Christmas -- hug and enjoy the blessings of those around you. We will be taking extra time to visit with those important to us this year, making the most of time with the ones we love. We are going to love more, give more, and speak life over each of you this Christmas season. May God’s blessing, protection, and provision be cast upon each of you all year long.

The Hodges’ Family

Allie, David, Adyson, Cade, Hunter, & Holden
