I'm Back!
2:00 PMAfter a 6 week hiatus, I FINALLY have a few minutes to catch up!
My goal this past month has been SURVIVAL. Hunter is a great baby -- he's so much easier than the others! What a blessing. I'm not sure I could handle another one like Cade! My days are never dull -- it's a constant cycle of feeding, bathing, cleaning up, and occasionally a nap gets thrown in there when I'm lucky. We are finally in a routine, and the big kids are adjusting well. There are a few things that help me get through my day: Dave, coffee (I can recreate a pretty close version of my favorite Starbucks drink with almost no calories or carbs), and an occasional glass of wine before bed.
Ok, I'm making my life seem kind of awful -- IT'S NOT!!! The actual day to day at home with the children is nothing compared to what else we have going on...
We sold our house (again) and will close on May 14th. We ended up having to renegotiate a million times due to some really unfortunate setbacks that were out of everyone's control. This house was officially the worst business decision EVER! Thanks to our awesome Realtor Robert, we are able to get out of here with minimal loss (that's right... we will not be profiting on this baby, but are SOOOO glad to be able to get out of here!). We are having repairs done as we speak, and hope to close on time without any more trouble.
So what is next for us? That's the million dollar question. I have spent hours searching for our next house, without any luck. We did make a competitive offer on a house at 81st and Memorial, but it didn't work out. The sting hasn't quite worn off that one -- it would have been so perfect for us. Everything happens for a reason, right? So it's pretty much guaranteed that we will be staying with family for at least 2 weeks. Hopefully we find something soon -- I'm ready to have something to look forward to because the thought of packing/moving makes me want to puke!
Other than that, we have many other things to be thankful for. It's wedding season again, and we have some fun weddings to look forward to this summer. I am going back to work the week of May 3rd, and am having bittersweet feelings about that. Luckily, I'm starting things out slow, and can add more hours to my week as everyone gets comfortable with mom being away. Ady will be four on May 5th, and we have been busy planning another special day for her.
Well that about sums it up -- I forgot how much I enjoy blogging, and I'm going to make a point to do it more (even if I have to do several small posts throughout the day)!
