Design Challege: Follow Up

Ady's birthday gift from her Daddy and I was an updated room. I had been wanting to do this for months, and her birthday was the perfect motivator. Once I started prepping the room, I realized it was going to be more of a task than I could take on at this time. All the walls needed to be repainted and her furniture also needs a good deal of TLC. I opted to paint the walls, and leave the furniture for a not-so-humid time of year.

Yes, that is full bedding on a queen bed. Don't judge.

The bed takes up the whole room. Those picture on the wall are her with a friend -- I think she was 2 at the time.

How about all those awkward doors?

Those are her baby hand a foot prints and her beloved butterfly from Aunt Val.

Not only did we deal with weird door placement, but how about that air vent on the wall?

This wall art was a wedding gift. It used to be brown. I'm looking for a small desk to go below this. She doesn't quite need one yet, but she will soon.

I don't love these rugs, but we already have them, so I'm making them "work" for now.

The Beloved Butterfly painted pink and photos of the ones that love her the most.

One of my favorite photos of the 3 of them.

Decoupaged wooden letters -- I'm sure there are fancier ways to do them, but this was a fun and easy craft.
On the short list of things I have left to do:
Window treatment
Refinish furniture
Paint the mirror above the dresser w/chalkboard paint
Find a matching ribbon board
Mount 3 hooks for her jacket/backpack/etc.
And yes, I was able to make my budget...not withstanding the additional 3 walls I had to paint. Hooray!
