2010 Hodges Family Newsletter

Dear Family and Friends,

It's time again for our yearly update. We hope this letter finds each of you healthy, happy, and blessed. God was good to us this year! We always have a lot going on, but this year He graced us with abundant enjoyment in each moment. Here's a brief recap of 2010:

August began David's third year at Superior Pipeline. He was promoted several times this year, but most recently to Gas Supply Representative. His primary job is to seek out new gas in his territory throughout Southeastern Oklahoma, Western Oklahoma and Texas; in addition to all the new acquisitions for Superior's parent company, Unit Corporation. He has been quite the jet-setter this year, traveling on day trips to Houston, Tyler, Dallas, and Denver. In his free time, he plays slow pitch softball, and is training to run a race in December.

This will be my second year of being a supervisor at Starbucks. I love my job and the flexibility it gives me to be at home with my family. I am Homeroom Helper for Ady's class, and cherish the relationships I have built with the other families at our school. Since I only have the boys at home most days, I have really enjoyed my quality time with each of them. I still look forward to Friday afternoons with my mom, breakfast with good friends, and nights out with girlfriends from college.

Adyson started school at Metro Christian Academy in August. She LOVES it! We feel so at home, and plan to keep her there next year. She attends school three days a week, all day. Her best friend's name is Avery, and her favorite activity is painting. Adyson just finished her first season of soccer on the Pixie Kicks, and plans to play again in the Spring. She is embracing her role as "Big Sister" to two, and is a great helper. When she's not at school, she enjoys cooking with mom; crafting; reading; and drawing.

Cade Ryan is two and has the happiest disposition of the three. Like most two year olds, he is in to EVERYTHING!!! Oddly, he will sit still to read, and we love those quiet moments together. He adores and is very helpful with his little brother, and loves to go to school to see “Sissy.” He likes to play outside for hours at a time, watch fooootball with Dave, and is a good sport about everything (as long as it isn't right after nap time). I am looking forward to getting this guy potty trained after the holidays – he's ready!

We welcomed Hunter Wade on March 10th. He is our miracle baby. After suffering nine weeks of health problems (and eight months of reflux), praise Jesus, he is healed! He has caught back up with others in his age group in every area but motor skills, and we expect him to be fully caught up by age one. This past week he began pulling up on everything. There isn't a type of baby food he won't eat. He has six teeth, and loves to show them off and bat his LONG eyelashes at mommy.

As a family, we sold one house and bought another. We were blessed with the opportunity to go to two Rangers games, a regular season against the Yankees and a playoff game too! We still make frequent trips to Stillwater and are instilling the values (and pure awesomeness) of being an OSU Cowboy in our children. Last but not least, we enjoyed supporting and cheering on Dave's mom, Sandy, as she was elected Wagoner County Tax Assessor in November.

We are looking forward to 2011 with anticipation. For the first time since we started our family, we do not have anything huge on the horizon. We want to spend this year soaking up the blessings we have been given. Even though we don't have huge plans, we know that God does, and we look forward to that revelation.

Merry Christmas to all,

Dave, Allie, Ady, Cade and Hunter Hodges
