Labor Day Weekend

1:38 PM

We had a fun-filled Labor Day weekend -- hope your family did too! We kicked off our weekend in Stillwater, tailgating and catching up with old friends. It was miserably hot! We embraced it, and had a really great time. We had an epiphany this weekend: our kids our easy now. We were thinking back about how difficult that trip would have been the previous year (or any of the previous 5 years for that matter). Everyone had a good time. No one cried. No one complained. We were astonished. Maybe we are over that "hump"? Or maybe we got lucky ;)

Ady and Cade too a swim to cool down in front of Edmond Low Library.
Ady's new motto: Always be Prepared (she wore her bathing suit under her clothes)

Sunday we had a Family Fun Day Planned at Hodges Ranch. We spend most of our Sundays (especially in the summer) out in Coweta at Grammy and Papa's cattle ranch. This week, Papa had some beautiful yellow wildflowers growing in the pasture. I had to take the opportunity to capture them, even though I edited the pictures in black and white.

Cade always insists on a tractor ride with Papa, and Papa always obliges. These two are Two Peas in a Pod! They like to wear matching hats and work gloves. Hunt even has a pair too!

Monday, we took advantage of the B-Eautiful weather and took a 4 mile walk on Riverside. It was just gorgeous outside. Thank you God for Fall weather!

Monday morning we were informed of the unexpected passing of a friend, Ja Gibson (a classmate of mine and former co-worker of Dave's). Our hearts have been aching for his wife Joni, their little girl, and his whole family. Please pray for comfort and peace for their family while they go through this. It was difficult knowing that while our family was making memories of a lifetime, theirs was going through the unimaginable. Ja touched the lives of many, and will be missed immensely. We are praying for you Gibson family!
